Title: Impact Associate
Reporting Line: Managing Director, Impact

The Role: DWM seeks an Impact Associate to join our team. The Impact Associate will support the Managing Director of Impact in maintaining and implementing our robust impact measurement and management (IMM) systems, which are at the heart of our work as impact investors.
The role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience within an established impact investing firm, working in private markets to drive positive social and environmental impact and significant business value for DWM and its stakeholders. This is a full-time position based in New Delhi, India.
Main Responsibilities: The Impact Associate will focus on maximizing the effectiveness of DWM’s impact management systems and helping to expand them as we grow into new sectors and deal types. Key responsibilities include:
- Review and analyze impact and ESG data from portfolio companies to support investment selection, monitoring, and portfolio reporting.
- Support impact due diligence and conduct ESG assessments on pipeline companies, in collaboration with Investment and Risk teams. This may include international travel to conduct site visits.
- Maintain database of impact and ESG data, regularly checking accuracy and supporting integration with other DWM data sources.
- Monitor portfolio company achievement of impact milestones and support follow-up.
- Advance DWM’s progress against key commitments including the 2X Challenge, Net Zero Asset Managers, the Operating Principles for Impact Management, and the Impact Frontiers Impact Reporting Norms.
- Stay on top of major developments and new research within the impact investing space to inform DWM’s impact strategies.
- Conduct in-depth research into key topics relating to impact, climate change, gender equity, ESG, sustainable investment regulation, etc. as needs arise.
- Support the development of new impact theses and products.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required characteristics:
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience such as impact measurement, monitoring & evaluation, ESG analysis, or other related fields
- Experience in financial inclusion, microfinance, climate finance, sustainable investing, or gender lens investing
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Competency in managing and analyzing large data sets
- Familiarity (ideally high) with data analysis and visualization software such as Excel, SQL, PowerBI

- Resourcefulness and self-direction, ability to leverage multiple sources of information to draw conclusions and make thoughtful recommendations
