About The Climate Finance Capacity Support Programme

DT Global delivers the Capacity Support Programme for MFAT. The scope of this programme is quite broad as it aims to be responsive to the needs of Pacific Island countries. It includes providing personnel or training to assist with:

  • Delivering and reporting on the flexible finance provided by MFAT;
  • Developing/updating national climate change plans and reporting frameworks;
  • Developing an investment-ready pipeline of projects;
  • Delivering climate change priorities;
  • Improving climate finance reporting; and
  • Accessing a broader range of climate funding.

About The Role

The Knowledge Management and Communication Officer will support MECDM’s SIIVA workstream by organising, structuring, and managing SIIVA ‑ related data and knowledge products, ensuring these are accessible, accurate, and easy for SIIVA officers and other MECDM staff to use. In addition, the Officer will maintain light coordination with the MRV/CBIT team to ensure consistency in information ‑ management practices, climate ‑ tagging alignment, and to avoid duplication. Furthermore, the Knowledge Management and Communication Officer will work closely with the Communications Specialist to learn and apply best ‑ practice approaches in knowledge management and communication, including data organisation, process documentation, communication tool development, and the production of knowledge and awareness products for internal and community audiences.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Communications, Environmental Science or a related field.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in data management, knowledge management, or related roles.
  • Ability to organise and manage large datasets and documents.
  • Strong writing and reporting skills.
  • Basic design or communication skills for preparing knowledge products.
  • Willingness and ability to learn through mentorship and apply new skills.
  • Knowledge of local languages and context for Solomon Islands.


Desirable

  • Experience in climate change, environment, or development sectors.
  • Familiarity in database systems and digital document management tools.
