A leading global developer and supplier of innovative polymers and specialty chemicals is seeking a Corporate SHE (Safety, Health, and Environmental) & Sustainability Specialist for their Louisville, KY headquarters. The SHE & Sustainability Specialist will play a key role in driving regulatory compliance, leading sustainability initiatives, and supporting continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance across multiple sites.

The SHE & Sustainability Specialist responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local SHE regulations and maintaining accurate records and timely reporting.
  • Leading the development and implementation of sustainability programs and achieving/maintaining relevant certifications.
  • Managing the corporate industrial hygiene (IH) program and supporting IH monitoring at all sites.
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering SHE and sustainability training for employees and contractors.
  • Tracking, analyzing, and reporting on key environmental sustainability metrics and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
  • Auditing SHE programs and partnering with leadership to drive continuous improvement and close audit findings.

The SHE & Sustainability Specialist should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental sustainability, with 1-3 years in a chemical manufacturing or equivalent industrial environment (preferred).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of USEPA, USDOT/IATA/IMDG, OSHA, and relevant state/local regulations.
  • Familiarity with chemistry, chemical terminology, and processing equipment.
  • Strong leadership and influence skills, with the ability to drive positive change.
  • Effective decision-making under pressure and willingness to support community outreach.
