Dryer Furnace Operator

In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects pertaining to the operation of dryer island and all associated equipment at the production facility locations. The individual would be operating mobile equipment, as well as performing maintenance activities on equipment and administrative functions to support the site operations. The core responsibilities and duties include:
- Maintain internal relationships with co-workers and supervisors
- Receive and maintain all required safety certifications
- Receive, maintain, and stay proficient on associated equipment related to role responsibilities

- Share expertise and knowledge
- Train with shift control room operators to reach certification to operate the Dryer Island controls for fill in duties
- Drive HSE culture at the site including environmental and safety accountability throughout the organization
- Proactively cross train in plant roles such as Control room operator, Chipper & Log crane, etc.
- Using daily checklists and assigned preventative maintenance, maintain optimal performance of the plants drying capabilities
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Complete production log sheets, work instructions, and other related paperwork
- Monitor gauge readings and make adjustments when necessary
- Performs housekeeping duties as requested, is responsible for keeping designated area clean and clear of safety hazards
- Working with the maintenance team on troubleshooting issues in assigned area build and expand upon electrical/mechanical aptitudes
- Approach issues, mechanical failures, and operational issues with a Continuous Improvement mindset
- Proactively work with supervisors to bring business improvements forward that improve operational costs and efficiencies
- Qualify for control room backup operator
- Predict operational adjustments that need to be made based on weather and other circumstances
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 3-5 years industrial experience
- Ability to adapt to working within a team or lone working environment, with minimal supervision
- Maintain and adjust equipment to maximize production and minimize downtime
- Must have a professional attitude and work well with others
- Demonstrated electrical and/or mechanical aptitude
- Promote a safe working environment and follow all workplace and job safety procedures
- Perform/coordinate good housekeeping in the facility
- Operate loaders, forklifts, manlifts, and various other mobile equipment
- Ability to use HMI interfaces to make operational adjustments as needed
