About the role:

As part of the Operations Strategy Team, the Operations Support Specialist will;

  • Provide daily coaching, mentoring and skills development through side‑by‑side sessions, remote call listening, group coaching and off‑the‑floor support.
  • Act as a role model and process expert, offering senior advice, sharing technical knowledge, and ensuring documentation, processes and best practice remain accurate and up to date.
  • Champion well-being and engagement initiatives while fostering effective working environments and strong collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive high levels of compliance, support continuous improvement projects, and confidently challenge operational delivery to ensure excellent customer experience.
  • Maintain skills matrices, support upskilling plans, assist with CSA tasks when required, and contribute to departmental projects using structured tools such as 4E.

Who we’re looking for:

To be successful in this role you’ll ideally be…

  • Experienced in a customer‑focused environment, with strong communication skills to present complex information clearly, listen effectively, and respond appropriately to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Skilled in adapting communication, coaching and training styles to suit different individuals, providing constructive feedback, supporting development, and maintaining a positive, approachable manner.
  • Highly organised, flexible and proactive, able to multitask in changing environments, identify opportunities for improvement, and confidently use Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • An understanding of the electricity industry and regulatory requirements would be advantageous, with the ability to use data insights to identify learning needs and drive continuous improvement.
