We operate within a hybrid work model, supporting flexibility between office time and work from home. Position SummaryArchitects at DLR Group are responsible for managing all aspects of project document development for complex Healthcare projects both large and small. They are also responsible for coordination with project team members to maintain work product quality within the established project schedule.As part of our integrated design teams you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design. You will partner directly with the Project Manager to ensure the financial health of the project, the quality of project documents, claim prevention, team collaboration and communication. Additionally, you will lead the cross-functional design disciplines in developing technical solutions.Sector SummaryOur team of educators, researchers, anthropologists, planners, architects, engineers, building performance experts, and interior designers draw from evidence-based design to aid schools in bridging the gap from old and new to improve all facets of operations, and elevate learning through design. Understanding the rapid pace of technological, social, and cultural change, our K-12 Education Studio works with schools across the country to navigate this change to better serve communities and improve educational experiences and outcomes for students.What you will do:Apply practice standards and maintain comprehensive design and technical skillsets across project deliverablesEnsure BIM standards are applied, QA/QC procedures are followed, and clash detection issues are resolvedPlan, design, and coordinate projects of varying sizes, while applying advanced architectural concepts and innovative techniquesCoordinate drawings and specifications with the specification writer and assist in preparing sections as assignedReview cost estimates for design alignment and manage time in alignment with the project workplanCommunicate effectively with the project team through written, oral, and visual means, and lead collaboration to generate design solutionsEngage peers and specialty experts for holistic solutions and participate in client presentationsMeet deliverable deadlines, understand construction and material costs, and ensure alignment with the project budgetHave a comprehensive understanding of, and the ability to coordinate and lead, the design disciplines in developing technical solutionsWork with contractor during design and construction phase through various project delivery methods including design-build, design-assist, and design-bid-buildHave knowledge of all aspects of professional practice from schematic design through project close-outBe able to work and present ideas in a team environment as well as self-manage and self-motivate in a creative environmentManage and guide assignments of the production team during design and documentation phaseProvide QA/QC to the project team and strive for design and technical excellence in design deliverablesPossess a high level of technical proficiency and attention to detail in the production of drawingsWork directly with Project Managers and Designers in the conceptual development of project documentsGrow as a leader of the in-house team, coordinating with engineers, interior designers, the PM and consultantsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master's degree in architecture or related field7-11 years of professional architecture experienceProfessional experience working on public projects, preferably in Education / K-12 projectsProficient in REVIT and CAD computer modeling and rendering softwareThe ability to travel occasionally to support project tasksLicensure, preferred*TO BE CONSIDERED, PLEASE SUBMIT CURRENT PORTFOLIO/WORK SAMPLES IN PDF FORMAT* DLR Group is an integrated design firm delivering architecture, engineering, interiors, planning, and building optimization for new builds, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects.We are 100% employee-owned: every employee is literally invested in our clients’ success.
