Overview
Our client, an international values-driven organisation, is seeking a Global Climate & Agriculture Market Analyst to bridge environmental science with agricultural economics.
This is a high-impact role focused on shaping climate finance strategies, supporting sustainable agriculture, and driving innovation across nature-based solutions and carbon markets. You will act as a subject matter expert, providing strategic insight into climate trends, financial mechanisms, and global market developments.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership on climate finance for nature-based and agricultural projects
- Develop funding strategies aligned with carbon markets and climate adaptation goals
- Analyse the impact of climate change on agricultural productivity and global agribusiness trends
- Monitor and interpret developments in carbon markets, climate finance, and regulatory frameworks
- Design and deliver training programmes to build global capability in green entrepreneurship and climate finance
- Establish and maintain Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) standards
- Act as a technical expert in global forums, representing the organisation and building partnerships with donors and investors
- Collaborate with regional and global teams to support programme delivery and innovation
Requirements
- Degree in Agricultural Economics, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Strong experience in climate finance, carbon markets, agri-tech, or sustainable agriculture
- Experience working in international development, humanitarian, or emerging market contexts (e.g. Africa, Asia, Middle East)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex market and environmental data
- Knowledge of carbon pricing, climate policy, and green finance mechanisms
- Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages (French, Swahili, Arabic) are advantageous
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at multiple levels
