The Utility Operator is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the ash handling and metal recovery equipment in the Residue Storage and Processing Building area. In this role, you will perform routine operations and inspections of the residue and metal recovery equipment. Daily operation of the bottom ash transfer conveyors, ash silos, fly ash transfer screws, pugmills, ferrous magnet, ECS conveyor and associated equipment. Perform daily routine inspections of assigned equipment and fill out daily log sheets. Participate in boiler cleanings. Maintain cleanliness of equipment related to ash removal and conditioning and an orderly clean work area. Perform lockout and tag out of equipment in support of maintenance activities. Drive mobile equipment such as forklifts. Forklift driving experience a plus. Three to six months of related experience and/or training preferred. Formal technical or apprentice training is desirable, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, technical procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and other procedure manuals. Shift Work ~ This position works on a rotating 12-hour shift including nights, weekends and some holidays.
