About the role Reworld is looking to hire a Senior Accountant of Commodity Revenue Accounting that will report directly to the Manager of Commodity Revenue Accounting. This role will be responsible for the month and quarter end commodity (energy and metals) accounting close that includes the recording of journal entries and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts. This role will have exposure to commodity accounting topics as hedge accounting and REC (renewable energy credits) accounting. In addition, this role will work collaboratively with other accounting, finance & business teams. a Opportunities for technical accounting related responsibilities, including research and ad-hoc projects the technical accounting team manages. The salary range for this location is $90,000- $110,000. Location: Florham Park, NJ

- Prepare and enter journal entries for manager's review and approval including accruals for energy & metals revenue, hedging, renewable energy credits (REC) accounting, and other ancillary revenues.
- Prepare invoices for energy sales.
- Prepare vouchers for vendor payment.
- Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations with understanding of the underlying balances including period over period variance fluctuations.
- Preparation of monthly SOX packages for audit review.
- Understand and improve existing accounting systems, software and processes.
- Assist with internal and external audit and non-audit requests including maintaining detailed records for review.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree required in accounting or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in accounting
- Hedge accounting understanding a plus
- Highly detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
- Advanced knowledge skills in Microsoft Office Applications Software
- Microsoft Excel experience including Pivot Tables, V-Lookups etc.
- Knowledge of advanced accounting procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to handle high volume transactions and 4-day month end close
- General understanding of energy markets helpful but not necessary.
