Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Rotating Equipment Plant Support Engineering, the Plant Monitoring & Diagnostic Engineer will be responsible for:
Monitoring component assembly instrumentation signals for abnormalities in operation.
Drafting dashboards and detailed reports on trending operational parameters, provide technical recommendations to facilities on operational risk and repair options.
On-site and remote Mechanical/Electrical engineering troubleshooting support for equipment operational challenges and unplanned equipment outages.
Facilitate reviews with Reworld facility maintenance teams on asset health and planned maintenance scope.
This position will provide key support to local and regional maintenance teams, however may handle boots on the ground aspects of these projects. The Engineer will provide subject matter expertise, utilizing Reworld's technical standards/specifications for Mechanical/Electrical Designs, incl. all rotating equipment standards applicable in USA.
This position requires close collaboration with Reworld facilities based throughout the US, hence there is some expected travel when necessary to support is required; estimated 30% travel requirement.
Independently review facility operational trends of rotating equipment monitoring systems. Catalog and prioritize equipment based on trends abnormalities and rotating equipment standards of acceptable operation. Coordinate with Reliability Engineering and Facility Maintenance teams to develop an actionable plan for resolution.
Develop a protocol for responding to all critical alarms, followed by escalation to key stakeholders (Corporate Engineering, Reliability Maintenance, Facility teams, etc.).
Develop scope of work for facility management and coordinate with suppliers and contractors in close coordination with Reworld engineering teams.
May assume the duties of technical lead and subject matter expert for small to medium capital program including maintaining technical documentation and asset databases.
M&D Engineer will have strong communication and collaboration with all internal Engineering teams.
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent from an accredited Institution.
Minimum 5 years of Engineering experience in relevant areas. Desired experience in operation and/or maintenance of steam turbines and ancillary equipment.
Industrial Experience:
~ Desired to have Mechanical experience with Fans, Pumps, Motors, and/or turbomachinery within an electrical power generation/large utility power plant, large industrial co-generation facilities, large chemical plants, either as an operations/design engineer or working with AE/design firms supporting similar industrial sectors. Must be able to work on multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision.
Understands and has working knowledge in preventive and predictive maintenance programs. (oil analysis, vibration monitoring, Temp monitoring of rotating machines, etc.). Must have proficiency in understanding and analyzing operational data for industrial equipment.
Experience with troubleshooting operational issues with rotating equipment, including vibration, bearing temperature, valve actuation, steam flow regulation.
Experience in mechanical assembly degradation and methods to repair equipment to as-new condition.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings such as CAD/AutoCAD, utilizing Monitoring and Diagnostic software from any vendor (e.g. KCF), SCADA/DCS or similar data trending applications.
Proficiency in creating and analyzing data trends to create and then present meaningful conclusions and/or action plans.
must be able to analyze data, write technical reports, and develop work packages to implement recommendations and the ability to handle multiple assignments.
