Position Summary
The Legal Intern will report to the General Counsel and support the various legal needs of the organization. Provide legal support to all organizations, including Business Development, Engineering, Procurement and Construction, Operations, Asset Management, and Finance. You will review contracts, support finance closings, participate in meetings, and assist with the administration of a corporate legal department. You will collaborate with and have exposure to all elements of dynamic corporate environment in the renewable energy industry.
The summer internship program is anticipated to run from mid to late May to the end of July, with exact dates to be confirmed based on availability and schedules.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As part of your internship, you will be exposed to whatever legal matters arise at the company in support of the business. As such, your responsibilities will vary from day to day but may include the following:
- Prepare and review contracts, correspondence, and other documentation to support day to day matters, transactions, finance and tax equity closings, and disputes.
- Review contracts to confirm compliance obligations and interpretations, assist with contract compliance efforts.
- Prepare FERC filings for Qualifying Facilities and support corporate entity management.
- Conduct research as needed to support legal positions.
Qualifications

We are looking for someone with sound business judgment and an aptitude for problem-solving.The successful candidate must be collaborative and able to manage multiple competing priorities
At a minimum, the Summer Legal Intern must have all the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree; completion of 2nd year of law school strongly preferable;
- Excellent communication skills in both oral and written English;
- Word and PowerPoint skills.
- Demonstrated interest in energy or environmental law.
Location
Atlanta, GA.
Our team works in the Atlanta office on Mondays-Thursdays and remotely on Fridays. This is not a remote-only position. Occasional travel may be required. Our office is in Buckhead Plaza, at 3050 Peachtree Rd., NW., Suite 350.
Compensation
The expectation of the internship is that you will be paid an hourly rate of $30/hour and work no more than 40 hours per week.
