*Position Title:* HVAC Technician
*Reports To:* HVAC Manager / Project Manager
*Job Summary:* We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Technician to join the team at Devino Electric & Mechanical. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in residential and commercial settings. This role requires expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting system issues, a strong commitment to customer service, and a thorough understanding of safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
* *Installation and Repair:* Install, maintain, and repair various HVAC systems, including central A/C units, furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, and radiant floor heating systems.
* *Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:* Accurately diagnose technical and mechanical faults in HVAC equipment and perform necessary repairs to restore functionality.
* *Preventative Maintenance:* Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
* *Customer Interaction:* Communicate effectively with customers to explain the nature of the issue, provide repair or installation options, and ensure a high level of satisfaction.
* *Blueprint and Schematic Reading:* Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to guide installation and repair work.
* *Tool and Equipment Operation:* Safely and proficiently operate a wide range of HVAC tools and equipment, including gauges, thermometers, electrical testers, and refrigerant handling equipment.
* *Code Compliance:* Ensure all work meets local, state, and national HVAC and safety codes.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* *Experience:* Proven experience as an HVAC Technician, with a strong background in both residential and light commercial systems.
* *Certifications:* EPA Section 608 Certification is required. NATE certification is a plus.
* *Technical Skills:* In-depth knowledge of HVAC system components, electrical systems, and refrigeration cycles.
* *Physical Requirements:* Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
* *Soft Skills:* Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
* *Licensing:* Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.
* *Education:* High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an HVAC technical training program is highly preferred.

* Comply with all applicable standards, policies, or procedures, such as safety procedures or the maintenance of a clean work area.
* Study blueprints, design specifications, or manufacturers' recommendations to ascertain the configuration of heating or cooling equipment components and to ensure the proper installation of components.
* Discuss heating or cooling system malfunctions with users to isolate problems or to verify that repairs corrected malfunctions.
* Connect heating or air conditioning equipment to fuel, water, or refrigerant source to form complete circuit.
* Adjust system controls to settings recommended by manufacturer to balance system.
* Recommend, develop, or perform preventive or general maintenance procedures, such as cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, oiling parts, or changing filters.
* Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
* Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.
* Install or repair self-contained ground source heat pumps or hybrid ground or air source heat pumps to minimize carbon-based energy consumption and reduce carbon emissions.
* Install, connect, or adjust thermostats, humidistats, or timers.
* Install auxiliary components to heating or cooling equipment, such as expansion or discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues, or stokers.
* Lay out and connect electrical wiring between controls and equipment, according to wiring diagrams, using electrician's hand tools.
* Measure, cut, thread, or bend pipe or tubing, using pipe fitter's tools.
* Install dehumidifiers or related equipment for spaces that require cool, dry air to operate efficiently, such as computer rooms.
* Record and report time, materials, faults, deficiencies, or other unusual occurrences on work orders.
* Cut or drill holes in floors, walls, or roof to install equipment, using power saws or drills.
* Install or repair air purification systems, such as specialized filters or ultraviolet (UV) light purification systems.
