Technical Executive, Energy Sector
DesignBuild Search are working with a leading construction and energy consultancy who continue to grow nationwide. Due to securing a 10-year framework to deliver Irelands climate action plan they have an opening for a technical executive. As a member of our clients technical staff, you will be responsible for providing technical and administrative support during the day-to-day running of the SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) domestic grant schemes. You will be required to liaise with all stakeholders including contractors, applicants, members of the public and SEAI in relation to technical queries around the heating, insulation and retrofitting industry.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist in preparation of weeks/monthly reports.
- Attending weekly/monthly/quarterly meeting with the SEAI.
- Processing technical appeals
- Processing reworks
- Taking technical calls relating to inspections and clarification of queries for contractors
- Taking technical calls from applicants and members of the public
- Technical support for field-based staff
- Assist in preparation of weeks/monthly reports.
- Attending weekly/monthly/quarterly meeting with the SEAI.
Essential Skills:
- 3rd Level qualification i.e., Degree and/or equivalent qualification in Construction or Engineering, or a Construction Trade qualification.
- Good computer knowledge/technological skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- An ability to interpret and capture accurate customer information.
- An ability to treat people with respect under all circumstances.
- Good powers of judgement and an ability to manage difficult customer situations.
- Quality management; looking for means of improving as well as promoting quality.
- A high level of motivation.
Desirable Skills:
- 2 years relevant experience in construction/retrofit industry
- Construction trade e.g. plumbing, electrical.
- Gas and or OFTEC qualifications.
- Experience in solar thermal, solar PV, and heat pumps.
- Knowledge of solar PV and domestic electrical would be advantageous.
- Foreman/supervisory experience.
- Excellent knowledge of the materials of construction and building services.
- Strong computer skills.
- Good verbal, written and customer engagement skills.
