We are looking to recruit a confident, versatile and motivated team player who can solve problems effectively. The candidate must have an interest in recycling and waste minimisation, to help us tackle current and future challenges in the waste sector, whilst maintaining a high recycling rate and good performance.

The ideal person will possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy environment.

The Waste & Recycling Advisor will work within our small waste and recycling team and will need to be able to work with both internal and external colleagues; to liaise extensively with customers on the phone, via email and face to face to resolve service issues and promote our service aims.

The ideal person will have experience of waste and recycling services, although this is not essential. They will however require a desire to help the team deliver efficient quality services, focused on reducing waste and promoting re-use and recycling to our residents. A good knowledge of frontline services is desirable to this post.

The ability to write site visit reports and complaint letters to a high standard is a requirement, as is the ability to use IT packages and information systems.

The Council is committed to being carbon neutral in respect of its own emissions by 2030 in line with the Climate Change Act 2008. This post will play a key post in helping to achieve that goal.

It is essential that you have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle as travel around the District is required.
