Chair and Chief Executive Officer – Clean Energy Regulator
The Australian Government invites applications for the role of Chair and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Clean Energy Regulator (CER).
The CER is a non-corporate Commonwealth entity and statutory agency established under the Clean Energy Regulator Act 2011. The CER administers legislated climate and energy schemes and delivers high-quality regulatory services to industry, government and the broader community. In its role as a national regulator, the CER also produces statutory reports and provides analysis of market conditions.
The CEO is a statutory office holder who reports to the Minister for Climate Change and Energy and serves as Chair of the CER Regulator Board. The CEO leads the organisation, oversees day-to-day administration, and ensures the CER delivers its legislative functions with integrity, rigour and transparency.
This appointment requires high-level leadership capability, sound judgement, professional integrity and the ability to operate effectively in a complex and high-profile regulatory environment. Candidates must have substantial experience or knowledge in at least one field relevant to the CER, with experience in climate, energy or environment policy, regulation, or public administration highly desirable.
? Full-time statutory appointment (term of up to five years; eligible for reappointment)
