Delta is seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our operations as an Environment and Approvals Manager. This role will lead and coordinate environmental and regulatory approvals across our integrated power station and mining operations and manage corporate environment reporting functions.

Our Successful Candidate Will Be Required To

  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of regulatory environmental approvals, including lodgement, negotiation with Regulators, modifications and ongoing compliance.
  • Oversee corporate environmental reporting including the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) scheme, Safeguard Mechanism, and Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Plans.
  • Support the evaluation and implementation of emissions abatement technologies and regulated mitigation actions, contributing to the organisation’s sustainability and decarbonisation goals.
  • Provide strategic advice on environmental best practices to reduce operational impact and enhance long-term compliance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with government agencies and regulatory bodies, ensuring full compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and legal teams to align approvals with project milestones and business objectives.
  • Proactively identify regulatory risks and develop mitigation strategies to support operational continuity and future growth.
  • Foster transparent engagement with internal and external stakeholders to promote responsible and sustainable operations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Tertiary qualifications in Science, Environmental Science, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in regulatory environmental approvals, preferably within the energy or resources sector.
  • Strong understanding of emissions reporting frameworks and abatement technologies.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
  • Ability to work across complex operational environments, balancing regulatory, technical, and commercial priorities
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with a focus on collaboration with government, industry, and regulatory bodies.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results within tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in emissions management and corporate environmental reporting, including National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGERs).
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks (e.g., EP&A Act, EPBC Act, POEO Act, Mining Act).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including negotiation, influencing, and high-quality written communication.
