Job Description

Role Summary:

The Sales Support Engineer (SSE) will be the primary technical interface for Delta’s Hybrid, Renewable, and Energy Storage Solutions in the EMEA region.

This role combines presales solution design and system performance validation to reduce energy costs in telecom applications, and position Delta’s portfolio for grid-interactive and energy-as-a-service opportunities, in close collaboration with R&D and Product Management.

While the core focus is Hybrid and grid-service applications, the SSE will also provide secondary support to RMMS and digital monitoring when required.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks

Hybrid and Energy Storage Systems (Primary Focus)

  • Dimension hybrid systems that combine multiple power inputs and energy storage to deliver reliable, cost-efficient operation.
  • Select, configure, and recommend Delta and third-party components for turnkey solutions
  • Support customers and Sales using standardised templates for drawings, charts and performance estimate reports.
  • Highlight to R&D and Product Management any non-compliance with EMEA regulations and grid-connection standards
  • Support Proof-of-Concept and pilot installations to validate new products or technical performance

Sales Support

  • Support Sales offices with technical proposals, internal costing, and TCO/ROI calculations using approved processes and templates
  • Prepare presentations, bid documentation, and technical responses for tenders and RFPs
  • Deliver training sessions for internal teams, partners, and customers on hybrid design, energy storage, and grid-interactive functions.

RMMS & Digital Monitoring (Secondary Support)

  • Provide temporary cover for RMMS project work during peak periods
  • Stay up to date on internal pricing and configuration tools to maintain team continuity.

Project & Delivery Support

  • Support customer project execution with troubleshooting and solution validation.
  • Coordinate with supply chain and third-party vendors on project-specific materials.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Electrical, Energy or Renewable Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 3-5 years’ experience in hybrid/renewable system design or energy storage.
  • Demonstrated understanding of energy-saving methods preferred
  • Proficient with Hybrid simulation tools (Homer, PVGIS, etc)
  • Familiarity with DC power, ModBus/SNMP/MQTT, or grid-tie integration an advantage.
  • Experience of telecom, industrial, data centre or utility scale power preferred.

General Skills

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 tools (Planner, Power Automate, Power BI, Teams, SharePoint) is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems such as MS Dynamics or SAP is a plus.
  • Fluent in English (written & spoken); additional languages (German, French, Arabic, etc.) a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, testing, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Willingness to travel within EMEA.
