Customer Operations Specialist
Location: Plano, Texas onsite 100%
Compensation: $55K - $70K (commensurate with experience)
Work Authorization: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the need for current or future sponsorship.
Position Overview
The Customer Operations Specialist will serve as a key operational liaison between Delta Electronics and assigned customer accounts, managing the full sales order lifecycle from purchase order receipt through invoice resolution. This role is highly customer-focused and plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence, on-time delivery performance, and an overall positive customer experience.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable operating within a fast-paced environment while collaborating cross-functionally across Planning, Purchasing, Shipping, Finance, and Sales teams. This individual must possess strong communication skills, operational problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operational activities for assigned customer accounts, overseeing the full sales order lifecycle from PO receipt through invoice completion and payment resolution.
- Perform order management and material planning activities within SAP, including reviewing inventory positions, updating sales orders, and coordinating delivery schedules.
- Partner closely with internal teams including Purchasing, Planning, Shipping, and Sales to ensure customer commitments are delivered accurately, on time, and in full.
- Provide customers with operational updates including open order status, shipment tracking, delivery schedules, and invoice reporting through email, customer portals, phone communication, and recurring meetings.
- Support operational reporting activities utilizing Excel functions such as Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and reporting dashboards for management and sales team visibility.
- Coordinate customer drop shipments with Delta manufacturing and warehouse facilities to support customer delivery requirements.
- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams to resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and customer inquiries.
- Troubleshoot operational and customer-related issues in real time while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience within customer service, customer operations, business operations, order management, or supply chain support environments.
- Experience working within ERP systems; SAP experience highly preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly within Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, reporting functions).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customer-facing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work cross-functionally within a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, logistics, supply chain, or operational business environments.
- Previous experience managing customer accounts, order fulfillment, shipment coordination, or operational reporting.
- Exposure to inventory management, material planning, or shipping coordination processes.
