Position Description:
Sr. Power Electronics Field Application Engineer (FAE) serves as the primary technical interface between customers, internal business units, and account teams to support data center power solutions. This role focuses on understanding customer power architecture requirements and delivering technically sound solutions using Delta’s AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies, power shelves, rack-level power systems, and advanced cooling technologies.
The FAE will own all technical aspects of customer engagements, from architecture definition and product selection through validation and deployment, while working closely with Product Management, R&D, and Account Management. Building strong, trusted relationships with hyperscale, OEM, and ODM customers is critical to success. This position is based at Delta’s Fremont, California headquarters.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Act as the technical subject matter expert for data center power electronics, including AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies
- Power shelves, adaptors, rack-level power systems, and busbar architectures
- Thermal management solutions including air-cooled and cold-plate liquid-cooled designs
- Perform or support system-level testing, validation, and troubleshooting of power solutions
- Present test results, simulations, and performance data to customers in a clear and professional manner
- Support customer qualification, integration, and deployment phases
- Build trusted relationships with hyperscale, cloud service providers, OEMs, and ODMs, becoming their first point of contact for new power architecture opportunities
- Work directly with customer engineering teams to understand power density, efficiency, redundancy requirements, compliance requirements and thermal constraints.
- Work closely with Business Units (BU/BG), Product Management, and R&D teams, primarily based in Asia.
- Partner with Account Managers to translate technical solutions into business value and help secure new design wins
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree is EE is required, Master’s degree in EE is Preferred
- 7+ years of experience in power electronics, Field Application Engineering, or Solutions Engineering
- Hands-on experience with data center power systems, including AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies
- Strong understanding of power efficiency, redundancy, thermal considerations, and system-level design

- Comfortable presenting technical content to customers and internal teams
- Willingness to travel approximately 20%, including overnight travel
