About the role: The Project Manager – Energy will be responsible for leading the execution, delivery, and lifecycle management of large-scale energy infrastructure projects, with a primary focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA).
This role will serve as the single point of accountability for project performance, customer engagement, service execution, and financial outcomes from project kickoff through multi-year service operations.
The Project Manager will work cross-functionally with internal engineering, field service, subcontractors, and customer stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and in compliance with contractual obligations.
Key responsibilities:
Project Execution & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end execution of energy service projects, including commissioning, transition to service, and long-term maintenance phases
- Act as the primary interface with customers, ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, and deliverables
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules, resource plans, and execution strategies
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, including PSA and LTSA obligations
- Conduct project kickoff meetings and establish clear expectations across all stakeholders
Service Operations & LTSA Management
- Oversee long-term service agreement execution, including preventive and corrective maintenance programs
- Ensure adherence to SLA requirements such as response times, onsite support, and issue resolution timelines
- Coordinate and manage site-based personnel and subcontractors supporting ongoing operations
- Monitor system performance, maintenance activities, and service records to ensure compliance and reporting accuracy
- Drive continuous improvement in service delivery, uptime, and customer satisfaction
Team & Resource Management
- Manage site personnel, including field service engineers and local dedicated resources
- Coordinate subcontractors (e.g., battery OEM partners) and ensure alignment with project goals and SLAs
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of project-dedicated staff as required for project scale and timeline
- Ensure proper utilization of internal and external resources to meet project milestones
Technical Coordination & Issue Resolution
- Serve as the escalation point for technical issues, coordinating with engineering and product teams
- Oversee troubleshooting efforts and ensure timely diagnosis and resolution of system issues
- Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities, failures, and corrective actions
- Maintain strong coordination between power systems, battery systems, and control systems teams
Documentation, Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure all required documentation is completed, including:
- Preventative Maintenance Plans
- Service Reports
- Annual Performance Reports
- Maintain accurate project and service records in alignment with contractual and internal requirements
- Provide regular project updates, financial tracking, and operational reporting to leadership
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Financial & Commercial Management
- Manage project budgets, forecasting, and cost controls across execution and service lifecycle
- Support billing processes, including semi-annual invoices tied to LTSA agreements
- Track project financial performance, including labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and change orders
- Identify and manage risks, including scope changes, delays, and cost impacts
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of project management experience in energy, utilities, data centers, or industrial services
- Experience managing complex, multi-phase projects with field execution components
- Strong understanding of service operations, maintenance programs, and customer SLAs
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors and cross-functional teams
Preferred
- Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), power systems, or renewable energy projects
- Familiarity with long-term service agreements (LTSA) or asset lifecycle management
- PMP certification or equivalent project management training
- Experience working with ERP/CRM systems (SAP, Dynamics, etc.)

The base salary range for this full-time position is $105K - $120K per year. Actual pay will depend on factors such as location, skills, experience, market conditions, and business needs. This role may also be eligible for incentive pay, subject to the terms of the applicable plan. Eligible employees receive company-provided benefits in accordance with plan terms and eligibility requirements.
