Financial Analyst
Why this role matters
Europe needs flexible capacity, and it needs it fast. Every new wind farm and solar park needs storage to keep the grid stable – and that is exactly what we build. Delta Capacity invests in, develops and operates large-scale standalone battery storage (BESS) across Germany, Finland, Sweden, Italy and Spain. We enter projects in early stages – greenfield, ready-to-build (RTB), EPC-ready – and take them through procurement, financing and construction to operation. From RTB, our projects reach COD in ca. 15 months: our two Finnish projects, 125 MW / 300 MWh each, are heading for COD in Q4 2027.
We are looking for a Financial Analyst who loves building models that decisions rest on. Working hand in hand with our Investment Manager, you turn project data into valuations, investment cases and financing structures – and get a front-row seat to how large-scale battery storage is bought, financed and built.
What you will achieve in your first 12 months
- Know our financial models inside out and keep them up to date, so any question from management, investors or lenders gets a fast, reliable answer.
- Deliver the first valuation of new projects – revenue, capex, opex and returns.
- Support at least one acquisition and one financing from kick-off to closing, from data room to final model.
- Prepare investment committee papers and lender presentations that are clear, consistent and ready to go.
What you will do
Financial modelling and valuation
- Build and maintain project and portfolio models for BESS – revenue stacking across tolling, ancillary services and trading, capex, opex, tax and debt.
- Run scenarios and sensitivities on price curves, degradation, availability and financing terms, and show what really drives the returns.
- Size debt and test it against lender metrics such as DSCRs and LLCRs, and keep the models audit-ready for model auditors and lenders.
- Support portfolio valuation and reporting to our investors and shareholders.
Transaction support
- Support due diligence end to end – data room, Q&A, red-flag tracking and input from legal, technical and tax advisors.
- Prepare investment committee memos, term sheets, NBOs and lender presentations.
- Benchmark offers, Supply agreements, EPC and LTSA prices and market data to sharpen our negotiation position.
- Keep deal trackers and closing checklists up to date, so nothing falls through the cracks.
What you bring
- 3+ years in transaction services, corporate finance, project finance, investment banking or an infrastructure or private equity fund.
- Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills; you know DCF, IRR, debt sculpting, sensitivities, refinancing. Python or VBA is a plus.
- A degree in finance, economics, business or engineering, and a genuine interest in energy scale-up and battery storage. CFA or equivalent qualification is a plus.
- Precision, ownership and the drive to learn fast in a small team.
- Fluent English and German (C1)
What we offer
- A steep learning curve – real deals, real models and real responsibility from your first week, with close coaching by an Investment Manager.
- Direct impact on Europe's energy transition – your models turn into batteries that keep the grid stable and green.
- A competitive remuneration and a path to grow into an investment role.
- Hybrid working from our Munich office, with occasional travel across our European markets.
- A small, high-trust team that moves fast, celebrates wins together and still makes time for ski trips and Oktoberfest.
