The Sustainability team within Audit & Assurance (A&A) is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-impact sustainability services across financial and non-financial sectors.
As an Assistant Manager in our Sustainability assurance, reporting and advisory team, you will support engagement management to deliver high-quality sustainability assurance, audit support, and advisory engagements across all industries. You will work closely with experienced managers, directors and partners to delivery high quality efficient engagements whilst building your professional network.

What are the main activities and tasks involved?
- Supporting the engagement manager to deliver sustainability assurance and advisory engagements across all industries, acting in the capacity of ‘Engagement Assistant Manager, taking ownership for agreed aspects of engagement delivery, quality management, budgetary control and client communications
- Actively participate in learning and development opportunities to build expertise in sustainability regulations, frameworks, and related methodologies
- Support engagement leadership with project management of a portfolio of engagements and internal ad-hoc tasks such as budgeting, business development, thought leadership and preparing materials for client workshops
- Qualified Chartered Accountant with audit and assurance experience.
- Hands on GHG emissions experience especially relating to calculations and areas of judgement
- Ability to lead the delivery of assurance files from planning to conclude phases
- Desire to lead and coach a high performing team covering a range of sustainability matters, in a dynamic, challenging environment
- Understand all spectrums of sustainability and Environmental, Social and Governance topics
- Understand sustainability reporting frameworks and standards e.g. CSRD, NFRD, UK SRS, ISSB, TCFD, SECR, CFD, GRI, UN SDG, UN PRI, SFDR, EU Taxonomy, GHG Protocol Guidance, etc. and an ability to translate technical matters in a practical way to clients
- Demonstrate ability to support the delivery of assurance engagements under ISAE 3000 standard or similar.
- Experience assessing the impact of climate change risks
- Advanced analytical skills, capable of challenging and interpreting non-financial ESG data
- Manage engagement economics, including budgets and resource allocation tools (DayShape, Swift)
