We are a EV & Hybrid specialty shop located in Kirkland, WA, serving the Bellevue–Redmond–Kirkland corridor — one of the strongest EV markets in the country. We focus exclusively on:

  • Tesla
  • Rivian
  • Fisker
  • Toyota/Lexus Hybrids
  • Hyundai/Kia EVs
  • BMW, Audi, Mercedes EVs & PHEVs

Our shop has 4 lifts, a dedicated battery table, Tesla Toolbox access, Autel diagnostics, and a highly capable R&R technician. We are now expanding our capabilities and looking for an experienced EV/Hybrid Diagnostic Technician to lead high-voltage and advanced diagnostics.

This is a rare opportunity to help shape and grow one of the region’s first true independent EV/Hybrid specialist shops.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled EV/Hybrid Diagnostic Technician with strong high-voltage knowledge and advanced diagnostic ability. You will be the lead tech for:

  • EV & hybrid diagnostics
  • HV battery and thermal management issues
  • Inverter/charger/DC-DC troubleshooting
  • CAN bus and module communication issues
  • Pre/post testing, insulation testing & safety verification
  • Creating diagnostic reports and repair plans
  • Guiding our R&R tech through repair procedures

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics on EV & hybrid vehicles across Tesla, Toyota/Lexus, Hyundai/Kia, BMW, Audi, Mercedes platforms.
  • Diagnose HV battery issues, contactors, insulation faults, thermal faults, coolant loop failures, and charging issues.
  • Use Tesla Toolbox, Autel EV diagnostics, OEM service manuals, and various test equipment to identify faults.
  • Conduct safe high-voltage system shutdowns, testing, lockout/tagout, and pre-charge inspections.
  • Provide clear, structured diagnostic reports and repair plans.
  • Work closely with our R&R technician to perform HV battery R&R, drive unit R&R, cooling system repairs, etc.
  • Help develop EV/HV service procedures and shop workflow.
  • Maintain high-voltage safety compliance at all times.
  • Optional: Mentor our existing tech on hybrid/EV fundamentals.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience diagnosing EV or hybrid vehicles OR high-voltage systems (Tesla, Toyota/Lexus, Hyundai/Kia, or European EVs).
  • Strong diagnostic ability with HV systems, CAN bus networks, thermal systems, and power electronics.
  • Comfortable using OEM service procedures and advanced scan tools.
  • Familiarity with high-voltage safety protocols and insulated tools/PPE.
  • Ability to create clear diagnostic notes and communicate findings.
  • Valid driver's license & clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • Prior Tesla, Toyota/Lexus, Hyundai/Kia, or BMW/Audi/Mercedes hybrid/EV experience.
  • Tesla Toolbox experience.
  • Experience with inverter, OBC, DC-DC, or HV battery troubleshooting.
  • Hybrid battery module replacement or balancing experience.
  • ASE L3 certification or hybrid/EV-specific certifications.
  • Experience training other technicians.

If you have strong hybrid experience but want to level up into EVs — we will support training.
