Carbon Communications
Job Title: Commercial Partnership Associate
Company: Deepsink
Location: London, with flexible remote working opportunities throughout the year
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Depending on experience (DOE)
About Deepsink:
Deepsink is a commercial agency dedicated to accelerating the commercial development of Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) companies. We work with some of the most promising climate tech and infrastructure scale with real market traction. As the first commercial agency focused exclusively on CDR, we operate at the forefront of a market expected to grow dramatically this decade.
We work across multiple CDR methodologies on the supplier and buyer sides simultaneously. Our clients trust us to win them deals, protect their commercial interests, and produce the materials that make complex science legible to procurement decision-makers. That last part is where you come in.
The Opportunity:
We're hiring a Carbon Communications Associate who is equally comfortable with technical content and creative output. This isn't a pure comms role, and it isn't a pure writing role. It sits at the intersection of both, and that's what makes it unusual and interesting.
You'll work directly with our Carbon Markets Associates and commercial leads to produce, review and improve the assets that move deals forward. Think sales decks, one-pagers, RFP responses, data room materials, buyer guides, and technical explainers. In some cases, that means creating these from scratch. In others, it means receiving a client's existing material and making it significantly better. Both are core to the role.
What you'll do
Strong technical writing ability
You write clearly, accurately and with appropriate rigour. You can absorb technical material quickly and translate it into well-structured, enjoyable output. You're as comfortable reviewing and improving someone else's draft as you are producing your own.
Creative output and design sense
You produce materials that look well considered and read concisely. You’re confident with presentation tools (PowerPoint, Google Slides) and design tools (Canva or equivalent). You understand visual hierarchy, layout, and how design choices affect how content lands. You don't need to be a graphic designer, but you need to be someone who gets content at least 90% of the way there.
Technical literacy in a complex subject area
You don't need CDR expertise on day one, but you need to demonstrate that you can absorb technical content in a rigorous field and work with it accurately. Experience in medical communications, science communication, climate tech, energy, or sustainability consulting is highly relevant. The aptitude to learn fast is non-negotiable.
Agency or multi-client experience
You've worked in an environment where you're producing output for multiple clients or projects simultaneously, under time pressure, to a high standard.
Attention to detail without being slow
You catch errors, inconsistencies and weak logic in your own work and others'. You also know when something is good enough and move forward. This flexibility matters!
What you'll bring
Experience: 2–5 years. Working across multiple client accounts simultaneously in an agency, consultancy, or equivalent high-paced delivery environment. You've carried 5+ accounts at once and just got things done.
Execution-first mindset: You move the hot potato without announcing it. You talk about actions, not processes. You're self-directed, absorb information quickly, and are naturally inquisitive about new subject areas.
Scientific literacy: You don't need a PhD, but you do need to read and absorb CDR technical content credibly - MRV concepts, pathway fundamentals, methodology requirements. This is learnable, but the aptitude must be there.
Strong written output: Proposals, client-facing documents, RFP responses, and briefing materials that don't need heavy editing. Confident presenter when required.
Nice to have: Prior knowledge of carbon markets, CDR pathways or voluntary carbon standards. Experience with data room production or due diligence documentation. Familiarity with RFP processes in a commercial or scientific context.
Why Join Deepsink?
Genuinely interesting subject matter. CDR is one of the most complex and consequential commercial and environmental challenges of the next decade. The science is real, the stakes are high, and the materials you produce will influence decisions that matter.
Small team, direct impact. No layers between your work and the outcome. You'll see the decks you build go into pitches and the proposals you sharpen convert to signed contracts.
Room to grow. We're building the team that will define how CDR is commercialised at scale. If you want to develop deep expertise at the intersection of climate science and commercial communications, there's no better place to do it.
London-based, flexible working. Covent Garden office. We work in person regularly but flexibly. Output matters more than hours in a chair.
How to Apply:
Send your CV and a cover letter to enquiries@deepsink.co. Please include examples of materials you've written or produced. Ideally, a mix of something you created from scratch and something you significantly improved from an existing draft.
We review applications on a rolling basis. Target start date: July / August 2026.
