Electrical Engineer
Job Description
DCO Energy, LLC is seeking a qualified candidate to join our engineering team as Electrical Engineer in
the Mays Landing, New Jersey Office.
DCO is a vertically integrated energy solutions company specializing in the development, Engineer‐
Procurement‐Construction (EPC), central plant operations, maintenance and ownership of facilities that
provide electrical and/or thermal energy from Landfill Gas, Biogas, Photo Voltaic, Central Energy and
Combined Cycle Heat and Power projects. In addition, we provide Energy Service Company (ESCO)
services for clients looking to retrofit existing systems to improve operations and environmental
footprint while reducing utility expenses.
Roles and responsibilities for this position include:
Apply design knowledge in power distribution, control systems, and equipment specification
and selection.
Interact with all engineering disciplines, construction project managers, and clients.
Perform engineering and design to prepare drawings, specifications, and calculations.
Perform technical and commercial oversight of major electrical equipment procurement, bid
evaluations of equipment in support of assigned EPC contracts.
Provide insight, guidance, technical review and approval of project documents and submittals.
Be a technical resource to the Operations Group for startup, testing, troubleshooting and
supporting plant performance upgrades and modifications.
Specific design activities may include:
o Prepare existing conditions plans based on site survey data.
o Prepare New Work plans and Specifications. This may include details, elevations, oneline
diagrams, and schedules.
o Perform calculations including power system studies.
o Photometric Calculations using Visual or other programs.
o Research products and make recommendations for new technologies.
o Assist with cost estimating exercises.
o Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
o Conduct site punch list surveys.
o Develop Meeting Minutes and Field Reports.
o Assist in Project Start‐up and Commissioning.
Prerequisites and Qualifications Requirements:
o 4‐year degree BSEE from an accredited program.
o Approximately 10‐years work experience in commercial/industrial/power engineering.
o Proficient in AutoCAD.
o Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
o Comfortable with public speaking.
o PE license is preferred but not required if actively pursuing.
o ETAP or SKM Power System Modeling experience a plus, but not required.
o Desire to learn and be challenged.
