Construction Contract Analyst

Our dynamic and growing company needs a motivated Solar Construction Contract Analyst to provide support to our growing business needs. We operate a fast-paced and informal office, which also includes a supportive growth atmosphere. A Solar Construction Contract Analyst, reviews customer prepared contracts and provides comments and suggestions that align with the company obligations and subcontractor quoted services. The Analyst will also align Prime Agreement flow down terms to the company and subcontractors as obligations to execute a proposed solar construction project. The Analyst needs to be familiar with the companies and subcontractors operating capabilities and quoted obligations. The Analyst needs to be able to create and issue subcontractor agreements that incorporate all of the conditions and requirements from both the customer and Prime Agreements. Responsibilities include contract preparation, negotiation, compliance monitoring, and relationship management with subcontractors, and internal project teams. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
Key Responsibilities
• Preparing, negotiating, and reviewing contracts for the purchase and sale of installation services, and project development items.
• Ensuring all contracts comply with project specifications, company policies, and industry regulations.
• Maintaining detailed and organized records and audit files for each agreement, including originals, amendments, schedules, deliverables, and correspondence.
• Tracking contract lifecycles, monitoring milestone deadlines, document deliverables and required actions.
• Coordinating across multiple teams (sales, engineering, project finance, legal) to ensure accuracy and completeness of contract documentation.
• Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to develop contracts, participate in bid assessments, and help with negotiations of terms and conditions.
• Analyzing signed contracts for risks and compliance, providing guidance, and transferring obligations to project management systems.
• Aware of the Companies Safety program, EMR and OSHA standing or representation to customers
• Aware of the Insurance requirements for liability, umbrella, auto and workers compensation to name a few
• Capable of incorporating and executing Surety Bonding requirements for customer projects
• Liquidated Damages; astute at negotiating favorable and narrowing terms for delays and penalties.
• Change Order execution and management with both customer and subcontractors.
Task Level Requirements
- MNDA review and execution for customers and subcontractors
- Customer Contract review, redline and managing to execution
- Creation of Subcontractor agreements and tie them with the "Prime Agreement" T&C's and Customer Contract SOW, SOV and Schedule
- Assist with the development of an SOP for Customer & Vendor Files, file locations and both price and costs need to be tied back to a DCE or Subcontractor quote
- Assist with Managing / Communicating the status via a dashboard for each Services Construction projects
- Implement the requirement for the Project Management System (Procore) to be utilized by all Company Subcontractors
- Handle all Vendor AVL requests and develop a shared file for the Company in the form of Vendor qualifications/requirements necessary
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business legal studies and relevant law qualifications are an asset.
- Experience for a minimum of three years in contract development and execution within commercial construction for the solar industry.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of contract law, business principles, finance, and compliance related to solar EPC activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to coordinate and present contract summaries across multiple groups.
- Proficiency with contract management software and office tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and CRM systems.
- Ability to independently solve problems in a fast-paced business environment.
