Job Description: Commissioning Mechanical Engineer (Data Centres)

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Commissioning Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team in Norway. You will play a crucial role in the testing, startup, and validation of critical HVAC and mechanical infrastructure, ensuring our next-generation sustainable data centres operate at peak efficiency and reliability.
- Execute Commissioning: Manage and execute Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning for mechanical systems, including Chilled Water (CHW) systems, Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAHs), Cooling Towers, CRAC units, pumps, and piping networks.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure all mechanical installations align with Norwegian building codes, European standards (EN/ISO), and strict data centre design criteria.
- Testing & Balancing: Oversee Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) of HVAC systems and verify proper integration with the Building Management System (BMS).
- Documentation: Review and approve pre-commissioning checklists, Method Statements, Risk Assessments (RAMS), and integrated system test (IST) scripts.
- Safety & Quality Control: Collaborate with general contractors and vendors to quickly resolve deficiencies, maintaining strict adherence to on-site health and safety regulations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, HVAC systems, or facilities commissioning, preferably within data centres or mission-critical environments.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, psychrometrics, and automated control systems.
- Language Skills: Professional fluency in English is required; knowledge of Norwegian or a Scandinavian language is highly beneficial.
- Attributes: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong leadership on-site, and adaptability to fast-paced project schedules.
