Our client is a large and well-regarded organisation operating within the renewable energy sector. The business is entering a significant period of investment, creating an excellent opportunity for an experienced FP&A professional to join its Finance team in a senior leadership position.

Who should apply?

This role will suit an experienced FP&A, commercial finance or capital programme finance professional looking to take on a senior team leadership position. You will have the following experience:


  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years' experience, including at least 5 years post-qualification experience
  • Strong FP&A, commercial finance or capital programme finance experience
  • Proven ability to influence and provide constructive challenge to senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, including advanced Excel
  • Team leadership experience and exposure to capital investment programmes or regulatory reporting would be beneficial


Role and Reporting Lines

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, you will lead the FP&A support for a significant capital expenditure programme and manage the team responsible for providing financial insight and analysis across the work programme.


  • Lead monthly reporting, forecasting, budgeting, target-setting and five-year planning for the capital investment programme.
  • Provide clear insight into programme performance, explaining movements in spend, activity, outputs, risks and opportunities.
  • Partner with programme owners, delivery teams and senior stakeholders to support effective planning, prioritisation and management of the capital work programme.
  • Lead the preparation and review of capex reporting for business reviews, senior leadership updates, regulatory submissions and board-level materials.
  • Provide constructive financial challenge, ensuring robust assumptions, cost discipline and alignment between financial forecasts and delivery plans.
  • Lead and develop the FP&A team, setting priorities, reviewing outputs and building capability across the function.
  • Improve FP&A reporting, financial models, processes and controls while strengthening data quality, efficiency and digital capability.
