Electrical EngineerPosition OverviewWe are seeking a proactive Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and support electrical systems for manufacturing applications. The role focuses on ensuring safe, code-compliant power distribution and control designs that meet production, reliability, and maintainability goals. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver practical solutions that adhere to NFPA standards and manufacturing requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, specify, and validate electrical power distribution and control systems for manufacturing equipment and facilities.Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and bill of materials in accordance with NFPA codes and company standards.Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, coordination studies, and relay settings to ensure system reliability and safety.Support manufacturing and installation teams with assembly guidance, troubleshooting, commissioning, and startup activities on the plant floor.Create and review electrical documentation including installation instructions, test procedures, schematics, and as-built drawings.Conduct risk assessments and ensure designs comply with NFPA and applicable local codes; recommend mitigations for safety and code compliance.Work with procurement and vendors to source components, evaluate equipment, and review UL/CE certifications as needed.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product manufacturability, reduce cost, and increase system performance.Provide engineering support for maintenance, failure analysis, and root cause investigations to minimize downtime.Mentor junior engineers and technicians, and communicate technical information clearly to stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.QualificationsBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; professional licensure (PE) is a plus.Demonstrated experience in electrical engineering for manufacturing environments, including equipment and facility power systems.Familiarity of NFPA standards (NFPA 70E) and experience applying them in design and installation reviews.Practical experience with manufacturing processes, electrical installation, and commissioning in industrial settings.Proficiency in electrical design principles such as load calculations, short-circuit and coordination studies, grounding, and protection systems.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with hands-on experience supporting commissioning and maintenance activities.Strong technical communication skills and experience producing clear schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects with competing priorities.Nice to have: experience with UL508A panel standards, and familiarity with power system analysis and design tools such as EasyPower, ETAP, Model Power, and other industrial power-system modeling software.BenefitsHighly competitive salary plus bonusRelocation assistance avail for right candidateFull health benefits (medical, dental, vision)401k w/matchPTOPaid holidaysStrong growth/advancementMuch more!
