Controls Engineer
Location: Manteno, IL
Salary: $80-130k DOE
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for industrial automation projects. This role requires a strong understanding of PLCs, HMIs, and various control technologies to ensure optimal performance of our systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop control systems for industrial automation applications.
- Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs to meet project specifications.
- Conduct system testing and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate robotic systems and motion controls.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including schematics and CAD drawings.
- Provide support for the installation and commissioning of control systems in the field.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing control systems for enhanced efficiency and performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in control system design and implementation in an industrial setting.
- Experience with battery performance including battery performance, capacity, cycle life, RTE, and C-rate.
- Understanding of energy storage systems, power batteries, or battery structure.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley) and HMI development.
- Familiarity with VFDs, SCADA systems, and industrial automation principles.
- Experience with AC/DC circuits and motion control systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and CAD software for system design.
- Knowledge of battery performance and energy storage systems is a plus.
