What You'll DoAs a Staff Civil Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, managing, and delivering high-quality civil and environmental solutions. You'll collaborate across disciplines, mentor junior staff, and engage directly with clients to bring complex projects to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or support engineering teams on civil and environmental design projects
- Coordinate multidisciplinary efforts across varying technical scopes
- Prepare detailed documentation: design criteria, reports, drawings, and cost estimates
- Provide strategic planning and consulting services to clients
- Review and guide junior engineers' work for quality and accuracy
- Manage project scope, budget, schedule, safety, and client expectations
- Foster client relationships and participate in marketing and design meetings
- Champion QA/QC standards and internal training initiatives
- Adapt designs to meet budget constraints, regulatory requirements, and client goals
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- OR Engineering Technology degree with successful completion of the FE exam
- Master's degree in Environmental Engineering may substitute for 1 year of experience
- 3-4 years of environmental engineering experience (consulting preferred)
- FE or EIT certification preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with construction oversight and methods
- Willingness to travel (~10%)
- Strong grasp of civil engineering principles and regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
