Controls Engineer Electrical Controls Engineer

Join a team where your engineering expertise directly shapes innovative automated equipment and robotic systems. In this role, you'll take full ownership of electrical control design-from concept development through installation at customer facilities. You'll collaborate closely with technicians, support system assembly, and program all aspects of the equipment you help create.

We're looking for someone who thrives in a hands-on engineering environment, communicates clearly, adapts to customer needs, and is motivated to see projects through from start to finish.

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Design complete electrical schematics for automated machinery and robotic work cells

  • Develop clean-sheet control programs

  • Create offline programs prior to commissioning

  • Debug, refine, and finalize system programs

  • Generate bills of materials and support purchasing activities

  • Write clear and comprehensive equipment operation manuals

  • Conduct and document equipment risk assessments

 
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a related field

  • Associate's degree or higher

  • Valid driver's license

  • Experience with 2D electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD)

  • PLC programming experience with any of the following:

    • Allen-Bradley

    • Mitsubishi

    • Omron

    • Siemens

  • HMI programming experience with any of the following:

    • Allen-Bradley

    • Mitsubishi

  • Ability to travel within the U.S. up to 25%

  • Strong understanding of industry safety standards and design practices

 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Robotic programming experience with any of the following:

    • FANUC

    • Motoman

    • ABB

  • Experience with vision systems such as Cognex or FANUC iRVision

  • Project management experience
