20-25% travel. The standard in-office schedule is Tuesday through Thursday, with flexible options available on Mondays and Fridays.
Requirements Summary:
We are seeking a Controls Engineer with strong expertise in Emerson DeltaV. Ideal candidates will have experience developing, coding, configuring, and implementing control systems for clients. Familiarity with the full project lifecycle-including system design, programming, testing, commissioning, and validation-is preferred. While deep knowledge of Emerson DeltaV is highly valued, many aspects of the role can be trained for the right candidate with a solid technical foundation.
Position Overview
We're partnering with a leading engineering firm that delivers advanced solutions in control system integration, automation, and facility design across multiple industries. We're currently seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to design, program, and maintain automated systems for a range of industrial applications. This role will focus on troubleshooting and optimizing existing systems to ensure peak performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop batch processes using ISA-88 standards and support automation in life sciences manufacturing environments
- Create system architecture, hardware specs, and control strategies to optimize production efficiency and reliability
- Build and configure HMI, historian, and controller applications while ensuring compliance with GAMP 5, cGMP, and 21 CFR Part 11
- Lead FAT/SAT testing, on-site commissioning, and troubleshooting of deployed automation systems
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, validated solutions on time and within budget
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field, equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in automation and control system engineering.
- Proficient in ISA-88 Batch Processing and DeltaV Batch configuration, with strong knowledge of process control strategies and loop tuning.
- Experienced with industrial automation protocols including HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, and OPC.
- Skilled in troubleshooting complex automation issues, electrical design principles, and industrial networking between controllers, servers, and HMIs.
