The Senior Energy Program Manager position is responsible for the delivery and oversight of energy efficiency, energy generation, energy management, and energy master planning services. This is an outstanding opportunity to bring your specialized energy expertise to our team, grow your career, and make an immediate impact on the built environment.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Apply policy, planning, and technical expertise to deliver energy services and reduce building or campus operational emissions, drawing on strong knowledge of building systemsIdentify energy efficiency opportunities, particularly HVAC and lighting system upgrades, by conducting field energy audits and developing engineering analyses, cost-savings estimates, ASHRAE audit reports, and documentation to support carbon reduction goalsManage and analyze energy generation, clean energy, and battery storage projectsSupport building and transportation electrification project development, including equipment replacement planning prioritized by efficiency and client operational needsContribute to climate action planning, decarbonization strategy, energy master planning, and net zero roadmaps, collaborating with GHG analysts as neededManage construction of energy projects from procurement through closeout, anticipating and proactively resolving schedule or priority delaysLead and manage the commissioning team and process from project initiation through turnover, directing owners, design teams, contractors, vendors, and testing providersDevelop Commissioning Plans and Reports, ensuring alignment with Owner's Project Requirements (OPR) and Basis of Design (BOD)Direct resolution of commissioning issues, tracking corrective actions from design through functional testingOversee functional performance testing, personally witnessing and documenting as needed to ensure quality and consistencyEnsure completeness of turnover documentation, including O&M manuals and as-built packagesLead fundamental and enhanced commissioning efforts in support of client LEED goalsServe as primary client interface, managing schedules, meetings, and expectations throughout project deliveryLead client and stakeholder presentations of project deliverables, including preparing materialsLead and grow the energy and building commissioning service lines, including staffing, mentorship, and business developmentKnowledge & Skills Required:Strong understanding of how building systems affect energy consumption and GHG emissionsAdvanced Excel skills, strong data management practices, energy modeling experience requiredTechnical knowledge of MEP system design and operation; controls, instrumentation, and electrical systems experience a plusExperience preparing project management plans, fee/budget proposals, and cost/revenue projectionsAbility to monitor project scope and recommend adjustments as neededResourceful and adaptable in managing projects on compressed timeframesStrong written and oral communication skillsCommitted to continuous learning and professional developmentReliable transportation, valid driver's license, and vehicle insurance requiredPreferred Education and Experience:Bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, environmental, construction management, or related fieldA minimum of seven (7) years of relevant industry experience in energy project managementStrong prior experience supporting energy and sustainability project types.Preferred certifications include PE, CEM, CEA, or other related energy and sustainability certifications#LI-NH1Cumming Group is committed to providing Equal Employment Opportunity in its personnel policies and practices. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package.
