Position Summary

Based out of New Glasgow or Halifax, NS, the Intern, ESG & Sustainability supports Crombie’s Climate Action Plan and ESG initiatives by assisting with research, data analysis, reporting, and certification activities.

Additional duties of the Intern, ESG & Sustainability include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting Crombie’s Climate Action Plan, including but not limited to market research for proven decarbonization levers, data collection, and interpretation.
  • Participating in sustainability meetings, taking notes, providing feedback and research on reducing greenhouse gases.
  • Providing support to Environmental Manager on ESG projects
  • Assisting with research, providing feedback, tracking, coordinating and collaborating.
  • Assisting with BOMA Best and Rick Hansen certification plans.
  • Researching and reporting on emerging trends in ESG and Corporate Sustainability.
  • Consolidating, analyzing and interpreting data sets related to ESG and Corporate Sustainability.
  • Conducting benchmarking reviews on a variety of ESG topics to understand our position against our competitors and peers.
  • Compiling ESG documentation and data to support the ESG Reporting.
  • Engages across all levels of the organization to create and promote a safe and respectful work environment.
  • Other special projects and tasks as assigned.

The profile we are looking for

  • Enrolled full-time in a post-secondary program with a focus in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Science, Business Administration, Finance or related area.
  • Previous experience working in ESG is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Committed to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Candidates enrolled in a co-op program will be considered a strong asset.

Compensation

The expected hourly rate for this role is $19–$24 per hour, based on location and relevant experience.
