We are passionate and excited about how we can develop and utilise new technologies to shape and inspire changes within an ever-growing marketplace. As our business looks to deliver its ambitious strategy of growth, we are looking for a student to join our team at Cowick for a 12-month placement.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across global sustainable sourcing and life sciences teams, providing exposure to the full value chain from the purchase of raw materials through to our end customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

The placement student will support the day-to-day coordination of sustainability related processes, including KPI reporting and the collection, validation, and maintenance of sustainability data such as product carbon footprints. They will also contribute to supplier and site engagement on data driven initiatives and support annual external reporting cycles. From a customer perspective, the student will help to develop marketing and sales materials, creating compelling sustainability narratives for the sustainability and pharmaceutical strategy refresh, as well as responding to customer sustainability queries.

Based at our Global Headquarters and starting in August 2026, the student will work closely with members of the sustainability team and stakeholders across the business on a range of activities that support Croda’s overall sustainability commitment.   • Studying degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Geography, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Agriculture, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related fields.
  • A proactive interest in sustainability across the full value chain, from suppliers to end customers in chemical, agricultural, and pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Foundational knowledge and understanding of sustainability topics and ESG concepts, particularly Greenhous Gas (GHG) emissions and climate change.
  • Strong analytical skills: Capable of collecting, transforming, and analysing data to create compelling and informative visualisations.
  • Strong attention to detail with analytical and critical thinking skills
  • High standard of verbal and written communication
  • Organisational skills, with ability to manage tasks and deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills: Able to develop relationships with multiple stakeholders across the organisation globally.
  • Self-Starter: Demonstrates the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, with an interest in sharing information, knowledge, and skills.
  • Understanding of relevant sustainability issues and trends is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of GHG accounting and Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculations and standards is desirable but not essential.
  • Understanding or experience of chemical, agriculture, and/or pharmaceutical industries is desirable but not essential.
  • Problem‑Solving mindset: Confidence in identifying issues, proposing practical solutions, and proactively improving processes is desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and lead on projects or workstreams is desirable but not essential.
