About the Role
Crewit Resourcing is seeking an experienced Energy, Sustainability & Decarbonisation Programme Consultant to lead the development and delivery of strategic energy and carbon reduction initiatives within a complex operational environment.
This is a senior-level opportunity for a sustainability professional with strong expertise in energy management, decarbonisation programmes, public sector funding, strategic planning, and project delivery. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving climate action objectives, managing energy improvement projects, and delivering measurable sustainability outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Review and update existing energy and sustainability strategies.
- Conduct energy, carbon, and sustainability baseline assessments.
- Analyse infrastructure performance, operational risks, and compliance requirements.
- Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and carbon reduction.
- Develop actionable decarbonisation roadmaps and implementation plans.
- Create detailed CAPEX and OPEX forecasts to support investment decisions.
- Align sustainability initiatives with national climate targets and industry best practices.
- Identify, assess, and prioritise energy and sustainability projects.
- Prepare business cases, technical evaluations, and cost-benefit analyses.
- Support funding applications and grant opportunities.
- Develop investment programmes that deliver measurable environmental benefits.
- Lead the execution of approved sustainability and energy projects.
- Manage contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders.
- Monitor project risks, timelines, budgets, and performance.
- Ensure minimal disruption to operational activities during implementation.
- Establish performance monitoring and reporting frameworks.
- Track energy consumption, carbon reductions, and project outcomes.
- Prepare regular progress reports and executive-level dashboards.
- Support continuous improvement through benefits realisation tracking.
Requirements
Essential Experience
- Proven experience delivering energy, sustainability, or decarbonisation programmes within complex operational environments.
- Strong background in energy infrastructure, building performance improvements, or sustainability projects.
- Experience developing sustainability strategies and translating them into funded implementation programmes.
- Demonstrated success preparing business cases and managing capital investment projects.
- Experience securing and managing grant funding or public-sector funding programmes.
- Strong stakeholder management and project leadership skills.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Building Services, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional accreditation or postgraduate qualification in sustainability, energy management, or project management is desirable.
