Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the development and pre-construction execution of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
This position will coordinate internal and external resources across development, engineering, estimating, supply chain, scheduling, procurement, and construction. The Project Manager will help advance projects from early-stage development through construction readiness while managing technical, commercial, financial, and schedule considerations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and external partners throughout development and pre-construction of utility-scale BESS projects.
- Manage project activities across engineering, estimating, procurement, supply chain, scheduling, and construction planning.
- Coordinate environmental, regulatory, land acquisition, interconnection, permitting, and other development requirements.
- Develop and optimize project scope to improve technical and financial feasibility.
- Support PPA, interconnection/GIA, and jurisdictional requirements and negotiations.
- Coordinate engineering, estimating, and procurement inputs used in project designs and financial models.
- Evaluate market and project data to support financial modeling, budgeting, and investment decisions.
- Support project financial models through internal review and budget approval processes.
- Source, negotiate, and execute contracts for engineering, geotechnical, survey, EPC/construction, and other critical services.
- Track project progress, risks, schedules, and key performance indicators, and communicate mitigation strategies to leadership.
- Interface with suppliers, contractors, regulatory agencies, local communities, and other project stakeholders.
- Ensure projects transition to construction with a well-developed and executable construction plan.
- Support process improvement, training initiatives, and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance/Accounting, or a related discipline.
- 6+ years of project management experience, preferably involving engineering, project development, economics, or construction.
- Renewable energy experience preferred, particularly utility-scale battery storage, power markets, or other renewable generation projects.
- Strong understanding of project development, financial analysis, contracting, and multidisciplinary project coordination.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical, financial, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- PMP certification and/or Six Sigma experience is highly desirable.
