Role Description


This is a full-time on-site role for a Consultant - Decarbonization Business Development located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The Consultant will focus on identifying and developing new business opportunities, generating leads, preparing business plans, and delivering tailored consultancy in decarbonization and related fields. The individual will collaborate with internal teams and clients to understand their sustainability needs and provide innovative solutions that align with the company’s vision of aiding climate change mitigation.


Key Responsibilities


  • Identify, qualify, and pursue decarbonization consulting opportunities across steel, aluminium, cement, fertiliser, hydrogen, and electricity sectors in India.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of Sustainability advisory, carbon footprint assessment, MRV prospects, and get mandates.
  • Develop proposals, pitch decks, and commercial offers for prospective clients; lead negotiations and close deals.
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly revenue targets through new client acquisition and upselling to existing accounts.
  • Represent Creduce at industry conferences, Forums, trade expos, and webinars to generate leads and establish thought leadership.


Technical Competencies


• Deep understanding of EU CBAM regulation (EU 2023/956), EU ETS mechanics.

• Understanding of in GHG emissions accounting (Scope 1, 2, 3) using GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, and other calculation methodologies.

• Familiarity with MRV frameworks, verification standards, and accredited verification body processes.

• Understanding of India’s climate policy landscape — PAT Scheme, RPO, REC, I-REC, Carbon Credit Trading Scheme (CCTS), and BEE regulatory framework.

• Ability to build financial models for CBAM cost impact analysis, decarbonization ROI, and carbon price forecasting.


Business Development Competencies


• Proven track record of B2B consultative selling in sustainability, energy, or environmental services - experience selling to manufacturing CXOs, plant heads, and export managers.

• Strong proposal writing, pitch presentation, and commercial negotiation skills.

• Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable value propositions for non-technical decision-makers.

• CRM management and structured pipeline reporting.


Soft Skills


• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Hindi (Gujarati is a plus).

• Self-starter mindset with ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Comfortable with 40–50% travel across India for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.

• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work with plant-level operational data.


Experience

1–5 years in business development or client-facing role into sustainability services, carbon advisory, energy auditing, ESG advisory, or climate policy. \

Education

B.Tech / B.E. / M.Sc. / MBA (as detailed above). Post-graduation in climate/sustainability preferred.

Domain Knowledge

Must demonstrate working knowledge of at least 2 of: CBAM, GHG accounting, carbon credits (VCM or compliance), industrial decarbonization, or energy audit/management.

Language

Fluent in English and Hindi (written + verbal). Gujarati is an advantage.

Travel

Willingness to travel 40–50% of the time across India; occasional international travel for conferences.

Location

Based in or willing to relocate to Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
