Procurement Sustainable Development Senior Manager
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and purpose-driven Procurement Sustainable Development Senior Manager to lead the transformation of procurement strategies toward sustainability, customer centricity, and Net-Zero alignment. The successful candidate will play a strategic role in aligning procurement operations with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), GRI Standards, and the organization’s broader Net-Zero and ESG commitments.
This role will ensure that responsible sourcing, carbon reduction, and customer-focused procurement practices are embedded throughout the value chain to create long-term environmental, social, and business value.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy, Policy, and Sustainability Integration
•Develop and lead the company’s Sustainable Procurement Strategy, aligned with global frameworks (UN SDGs, GRI, ISO 20400) and the corporate Net-Zero roadmap.
•Translate customer sustainability expectations into procurement decisions, fostering customer trust through ethical and transparent sourcing practices.
•Integrate sustainability and customer-centric thinking across the procurement lifecycle, aligning with SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 8 (Decent Work).
2. Net-Zero & Climate-Resilient Supply Chain
•Drive carbon reduction across Scope 3 emissions, particularly within the supply chain, in alignment with the company’s Net-Zero targets.
•Work with suppliers to measure and reduce their environmental footprint, using tools such as Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and GHG protocols.
•Ensure climate risks are assessed and addressed in procurement strategies, including through sustainable material sourcing and supplier decarbonization programs.
3. Customer-Centric Sourcing & Stakeholder Engagement
•Embed Customer Centricity into sourcing practices by prioritizing suppliers, products, and materials that align with customer values (e.g., eco-friendly, fair labor, low-carbon).
•Collaborate with product development, marketing, and sustainability teams to ensure procurement supports sustainable customer experiences and value propositions.
•Establish responsive procurement mechanisms based on customer feedback, sustainability expectations, and market trends.
4. Supplier Collaboration & ESG Due Diligence
•Lead the development of ethical sourcing programs, supplier capacity-building initiatives, and ESG audits (aligned with GRI 308, GRI 414, SA8000, etc.).
•Build strong relationships with key suppliers to jointly innovate and co-create sustainability solutions that drive customer loyalty and business resilience.
•Promote digital traceability and transparency tools (e.g., blockchain, EcoVadis, Sedex) to enhance supply chain visibility and accountability.
5. Reporting, Measurement & Compliance
•Monitor, report, and continuously improve Sustainable Procurement KPIs, including supplier ESG performance, carbon footprint reduction, and SDG alignment.
•Contribute to sustainability disclosures and reports (GRI, CDP, TCFD, CSRD, SEC climate rules) with procurement-specific impact data.
•Ensure ongoing compliance with global sustainability and human rights regulations (e.g., UK Modern Slavery Act, EU Deforestation Regulation).
