Purpose: CEEW seeks to hire an experienced researcher to develop a programme on the interface of geoengineering, technology and governance. The focus will be on the science and governance of geoengineering interventions. A science perspective on geoengineering emphasises a deep scientific knowledge of various relevant technologies and interventions and their implications for global and regional climate. The governance perspective seeks to explore ways to limit unilateral large-scale geoengineering interventions and suggest potential architectures to govern the same. This role is envisaged as a combination of independent research demonstrating thought leadership and deep engagement with national and international stakeholders through a sustained dialogue.
