Expected salary range of $169,200 to $188,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Primary Purpose Of Position

The Generation Interconnection Senior Manager serves as lead in coordinating the interconnection and energization of new megawatts in competitive wholesale markets for Constellation. The Generation Interconnection Senior Manager collaborates across the business to compile the technical packages required for successful queue applications and advancement of projects through RTO/ISO generation interconnection processes. The Generation Interconnection Senior Manager also supports Constellation’s advocacy work providing guidance on RTO/ISO interconnection rules, including changes to rules as well as opportunities for expedited interconnection. This position reports directly to the VP, Wholesale Market Development.

Primary Duties And Accountabilities

  • Lead and provide strategic direction for the interconnection and energization of Constellation’s new megawatts in competitive wholesale markets. Drive alignment with corporate growth objectives and market positioning.
  • Primary responsibility for overseeing large projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, this includes robust controls through project design and execution.

  • Accountable for coordination across engineering, legal, finance, and commercial teams. Responsible for obtaining senior management approvals as necessary to maintain all developed milestones. Strong leadership and interdepartmental coordination skills, financial management, and project scheduling core competencies.
  • Drive operational readiness by aligning engineering, construction, and procurement activities to deliver on-time commercial operations following execution of interconnection agreements. Ensure development milestone achievement, oversee acquisition of necessary federal, state, local licenses and permits and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Responsible for ensuring senior leadership remains informed of milestone accomplishment and project risks.
  • Effective and influential external representative of Constellation and any projects to RTOs/ISOs, transmission owners, relevant federal, state, and local authorities, business partners, vendors, and other stakeholders. Provide guidance on RTO/ISO interconnection rules, including changes to rules as well as opportunities for expedited interconnection.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Science, or related field
  • 10 years of professional experience with at least 4 years in the energy or utility industry
  • Proficient knowledge of RTO/ISO rules regarding interconnection processes
  • Large scale project management experience
  • Ability to coordinate, collaborate, and execute across multiple teams both internal and external
  • Oral and written communication and relationship building skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex recommendations to a variety of audiences, including Senior Management
  • Ability to positively represent the company externally to a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to create practical solutions to complex problems through collaboration
  • Understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to energy project development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Expertise in interconnection transmission-related matters arising in the Eastern Interconnection.
