Primary Purpose Of Position
The responsibility of the Analyst is to follow and analyze energy markets and utilize market knowledge to identify and pursue commercial opportunities that add gross margin for the organization. Opportunities may take the form of long-term structured transactions, shorter term trading strategies, physical asset optimization or other that may develop.

Familiarity with programming tools is a plus (e.g., MATLAB, C++, Python, R, SecDB, Oracle, AMP)

Primary Duties And Accountabilities
- Analyze and evaluate complex wholesale energy transactions to ensure that all relevant aspects are identified, priced and structured to meet internal and customer needs.
- Identify and respond to emerging market opportunities.
- Monitor new developments in the trading marketplace, including new entrants, counterparty activity, evolving market trends, and relevant regulatory or legal proposals.
- Develop and utilize complex models to price risk management products and derive forward prices.
- Serve as a liaison with internal and external clients to support and advance business goals.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Data Science, Data Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related field
- Demonstrates decision making capabilities coupled with the ability to recognize and incorporate risk into plans
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to collaborate across teams
- Teamwork and self-motivation skills to achieve success in a rapidly evolving environment
- Proven ability to manage, analyze, and summarize large datasets
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate analysis into actionable and practical conclusions
