This Mechanical Engineering role can be filled at Entry, Mid-level, or Senior Engineer levels. Please review the minimum qualifications for each level below.
Expected salary range:
- Entry-Level - $85,000
- Mid-Level - $90,000 - $111,000
- Senior Level - $118,000 - $150,000
These ranges are based on experience and include a comprehensive benefits package with bonuses and 401(k).
Primary Purpose of Position
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will engage in advanced technical problem-solving to support nuclear plant operations, acting as a technical expert and resource to fellow engineers. You will be responsible for making impactful technical decisions while ensuring compliance with industry codes and regulations.
Primary Duties and Accountabilities
- Provide expert technical guidance to develop, manage, and implement engineering analyses, activities, and programs.
- Serve as a subject matter expert to identify and resolve equipment and system challenges.
- Lead engineering initiatives that have short-term and long-term implications for site operations.
- Execute assigned engineering tasks with adherence to engineering principles.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work, maintaining proper configuration management and compliance with design standards, practices, and codes.
- Conduct independent research, reviews, and analyses to support technical projects.
- Recommend innovative concepts and techniques for improved performance, cost reduction, and regulatory compliance.
- Be prepared to take on additional responsibilities as directed by management, including emergency response, departmental coverage, call-outs, and support for outage activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Entry-Level Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear).
- Meet minimum access requirements and pass a medical examination in accordance with position duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Mid-level Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear) with 2 years of nuclear or related engineering experience.
- Meet minimum access requirements and pass a medical examination in accordance with position duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Senior Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear) with 5 years of nuclear or related engineering experience.
- Meet minimum access requirements and pass a medical examination in accordance with position duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer in training certification.
- Experience with Inspection Engineering Programs is highly preferred.
