About Conservation Mind
Conservation Mind is a global nonprofit dedicated to helping under-resourced communities and small NGOs access and apply environmental technologies, such as AI, drones, remote sensing, and camera traps, to protect forests, oceans, and wildlife. We co-develop practical conservation tools, train local communities, and support real-world monitoring efforts across Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa, and the Pacific. Our mission is simple: democratize access to conservation technology and strengthen locally led environmental protection worldwide.
Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Volunteer Grant Writer & Fundraising Strategist to help secure critical funding for our global conservation projects.
You will play a major role in identifying grant opportunities, drafting proposals, supporting donor outreach, and helping us grow sustainably as an organization.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about conservation, international development, or environmental justice, and who wants meaningful experience working with a dynamic and rapidly growing global nonprofit.
Responsibilities
- Identify and research grant opportunities from foundations, governments, and philanthropic organizations
- Draft compelling grant proposals, concept notes, and letters of inquiry
- Support the Executive Director with donor outreach and fundraising strategy
- Create and maintain a pipeline of funding prospects
- Assist in preparing budgets, project narratives, and supporting documents
- Help develop long-term fundraising strategies for organizational sustainability
- Track deadlines, requirements, and reporting obligations for existing grants
What We’re Looking For
- Strong writing and storytelling skills
- Experience in grant writing, fundraising, research, or nonprofit development (desired but not required)
- Ability to translate scientific and technical information into clear, compelling narratives
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team
- Passion for conservation, climate action, and community-led environmental work
- A proactive and self-driven mindset
