Background:
CI Philippines is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced consultant to provide technical assistance in orienting the CTWGs of the six city LGUS, other stakeholders, and CRC teams on GGI principles and related matters.
The CI field teams are preparing the integrated report of at least five main activities in support to the NBS decision maps that the CI’s GIS staff prepared in coordination with the CTWGs, other stakeholders, and CRC city teams.
The NBS decision maps are important in developing the NBS menus of the six city LGUs. The edited main reports are the principal narratives that explain the NBS decision maps where future decisions on management interventions and programs can be based on. Some of the entries in the NBS menus and current site profiles areGGI projects (proposed). Knowledge on the principles of GGI is important for the local stakeholders to include GGI in the NBS menus that will be prepared during years 2 and 3.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and develop an orientation module.
- Design and develop an orientation program including materials for presentation.
- Conduct orientation workshops.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience on environmental issues, particularly on nature-based solutions (NBS), climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies. At least 7-10 years of work experience in the same field.
- At least 5 years’ experience in working with environment, resource planners and engineers in developing and/or designing NBS initiatives or projects, preferably hybrid solutions such as Green-Grey Infrastructure (GGI) or Nature-Based Engineering solutions.
- Considerable experience in facilitating discussions and providing support in formulating Environment or NBS strategies with focus on addressing climate change issues.
- Excellent analytical and research skills and can interpret and apply technical and scientific information and data to achieve tangible results.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Familiar with computer tools such as ArcGIS, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and others, as applicable.
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential, capacity to develop good working relationships and partnership with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Fluency in English required.
