Senior Coordinator, Long-term Finance and Innovation

POSITION SUMMARY - This position is based in Arlington, VA

The position provides coordination and project management support for the Long Term Finance Program and for the Innovation & Replication Program as needed, both within the Conservation Finance Division (CFD). CFD is the division at Conservation International (CI) that provides financing to support field-level conservation and ensure economic benefits to local communities. The Long-Term Finance (LTF) Program collaborates closely with CI programs and partners to identify, design, and deploy long-term financing solutions to support CI’s nature protection goals. The Innovation and Replication Program leads CI’s work in building more pipeline of transactions that deliver a material increase in private, return-seeking investment in conservation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to key documents needed to engage with stakeholders and manage the relationship with our technical partners.
  • Provides support and input into new funding proposals and requests. Coordinates technical reporting and deliverables for key projects.
  • Contributes to the production of fact sheets, and other communications products for donors and other stakeholders.
  • Supports engagement with internal and external stakeholders including donors, government and NGOs, technical colleagues, consultants, and others important to program success.
  • Conducts research on various conservation finance topics.
  • Supports fundraising efforts for the program and drafts proposals and memoranda.
  • Provides administrative and programmatic support for projects.
  • Conducts diligence on grantees, investees, and related projects and provides support in the retention of consultants (researching consulting firms, and drafting requests for proposal charts to compare the various firms).
  • Schedules and organizes meetings and takes accurate minutes of meetings as needed.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • High School or Secondary School education.
  • 2 to 4 years of related work experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to keep track of documents and track the progress of project activity.
  • Outstanding teamwork and project management skills to carry out team goals effectively.
  • Ability to function well in a multicultural, diverse, and fast-paced work team environment.
  • Comfortable managing multiple duties and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work under general supervision and work directly with immediate supervisor to solve problems.
  • Willingness to go above and beyond in support of team goals and programmatic objectives.
  • Eager to learn, willing to ask many questions, communicative about the status of projects, and very responsive to emails.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university.
  • Spanish proficiency (speaking and writing) is desirable.
  • Experience with fundraising and grant writing is a plus.
