POSITION SUMMARY - This position could be based in Arlington, VA-United States, United States (remote), Cape Town-South Africa, Nairobi-Kenya, Singapore, Brazil (remote), Brussels-Belgium, London-United Kingdom (remote)

The Senior Coordinator, Brand and Communications provides holistic support to the Brand + Communications team on four key fronts: 1) Ensuring smooth and consistent communications across the team as well as with other global divisions within CI; 2) Working with Brand and Communications team leads to develop, track, and report on team metrics; 3) Collaborating closely with the Senior Director of Integrated Communications Campaigns to ensure successful rollouts throughout the year; and 4) Implementing key aspects of CI’s executive visibility and thought leadership work.

Reporting to the Chief Communications and Marketing Officer, this is a crucial position that will help ensure a collaborative, proactive, and results-focused team. This team member needs to know how to work across divisions, skill sets, and geographies to build trust and help ensure streamlined work. This job does not manage staff and does not have the authority to allocate resources or approve budget expenditures. Duties performed under general supervision.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring smooth and consistent communications across the team as well as with other global divisions within CI.
  • Working with Brand + Communications team leads to develop, track, and report on team metrics.
  • Collaborating closely with the Senior Director of Integrated Communications Campaigns to ensure successful rollouts throughout the year.
  • Implementing key aspects of CI’s executive visibility and thought leadership work.
  • Providing scheduling and other administrative support to the Chief Communications and Marketing Officer as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

  • The coordinator may be asked to support or collaborate on ad hoc projects for specific teams within Brand + Communications.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Equipment (laptop) and on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Ability and willingness to work across multiple time zones throughout the year.
  • This position follows a hybrid work structure, working some days from the office and some remotely. Guidance will be shared during the interview process.
  • For Europe/UK Candidates: Candidates should be EU or UK nationals or have a valid work permit for Belgium or in the UK.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in communications, external affairs, fundraising, or marketing.
  • Relevant working knowledge of environmental and conservation-related issues is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex information to a diverse audience.
  • Digital design, and creative skills and experience.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a key collaborator in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to advancing the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion and working productively and respectfully across various cultural contexts in a complex global organization.

Preferred

  • Multiple language skills are highly valued.
  • Experience working and living outside of the U.S.
