POSITION SUMMARY - This position is based in CI’s Arlington, VA office
The Recruiter is responsible for managing the recruitment cycle for assigned requisitions across the organization. The role reports to the Senior Director, Global Talent Acquisitions, and works closely with the HR Business Partners to develop and execute recruiting strategies that align with the CI’s hiring objectives. They will manage the full life-cycle recruitment process, support the development and refinement of CI’s global recruitment systems and processes, and support staff training for the function. The ideal candidate will have experience in international recruitment and will have a strong ability to build relationships with hiring managers across different business units and regions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct sourcing of passive candidates through social media channels and creative networking (referrals, internet mining, etc.). Manage the recruitment/selection process for roles which could include conservation/environmental sector and operations management roles such as human resources, IT, and finance specialists.
- Manage job descriptions for job advertisements in cooperation with hiring managers and HR Business Partners. Define recruitment sourcing strategy for each role based on labor market or geographic focus.
- Review applications and assess candidate qualifications against criteria.
- Schedule and conduct interviews and make recommendations to hiring managers on candidate shortlist.
- Develop and ensure implementation of high-quality global recruitment, interviewing, selection, and negotiations for the final offer. Build the skills and commitment of hiring managers to follow best practices in all stages of the talent acquisition life cycle.
- Provide regular reports to hiring managers on a timely basis regarding status relating to all positions; including outreach and response for each position as needed.
- Work with the HRBPs and compensation director to determine appropriate salary ranges for specific positions and markets. Negotiate salaries and support the transition from the offer to the onboarding stage.
- Support the development of recruiting processes and systems, including new technology. Support the development of new templates, forms, and tools.
- Support periodic staff training on recruitment procedures and best practices.
- Develop and facilitate training for hiring managers on the recruiting process and provide periodic training to management staff on recruitment and onboarding best practices.
- Promote CI’s recruitment brand through active participation in virtual or in-person job fairs, conferences, and other networking and marketing events.
- Develop outreach efforts in support of diversity hiring and inclusive sourcing.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days of in-office time per week.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 4 to 6 years of experience in talent acquisition/recruitment. Experience in the international development industry or conservation is preferred.
- Experience conducting searches on recruitment databases, social media, and relevant industry websites to identify the talent required.
- Understanding of compliance requirements and best practices for recruitment and hiring. Proven ability to research and learn employment law outside of the US.
- Outstanding communication (verbal and written), presentation, and diplomacy skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information professionally and discreetly.
- Experience working with an applicant tracking system (ATS) or customer relationship management software is required. Experience improving ATS capability or procuring new systems is a plus.
- Fluent English language skills are required.
Preferred
- A Bachelor’s degree in international affairs, economics, or social sciences.
- Fluency in a second language, such as French or Spanish.
