Conservation International protects nature for the benefit of humanity. Through science, policy, fieldwork, and finance, we spotlight and secure the most important places in nature for the climate, biodiversity, and for people. With offices in 30 countries and projects in more than 100 countries, Conservation International partners with governments, companies, civil society, Indigenous peoples, and local communities to help people and nature thrive together.

POSITION SUMMARY - This position is based in Arlington, VA (remote possible)

The goal of the Center for Communities and Conservation (CCC) is to ensure that Conservation International (CI), CI’s partner organizations, and the broader conservation community implement a people-centered approach to conservation, honoring our obligations to and partnerships with indigenous peoples and local communities while safeguarding our planet for future generations.

The Knowledge Management (KM) Intern will join the executive team of the CCC and assist the Senior Vice President, Executive and Communications Manager, and Financial Manager in the implementation of the CCC’s long-term goal and strategy. The KM Intern will help facilitate the flow of information between staff in the organization’s divisions and field programs on topics such as environmental peacebuilding and conflict resolution, Rights-Based Approach to conservation; Free, Prior, and Informed Consent, Gender in Conservation, and more. Working in close collaboration with the Executive and Communications Manager, the KM Intern will complete various communications and logistics projects while learning about the role of social science in conservation.
